In Response To: Removing water from Kayak (Anthony Papa)

: I just purchased my first Kayak...what is the method of removing any
: dangerous level of water that accumulates in the Kayak while paddling or
: if it rains heavy.

A spray skirt to keep it out in the first place?

Practice wet exits and releasing your sprayskirt in calm water--maybe with a spotter.

Take a class and learn to wet exit, and learn solo and assisted rescues. After emptying the boat of water (in deep water) after a wet exit, dealing with rain or splash accumulation will be easy!
