No doubt the expert waveski riders, with their surfboard like ride, can do things that KI folks find hard to do on a wave face. It seems that the new generation of shorter High Performance (HP) surf yaks are coming close to it though.

To bring the subject back in line with rolling, have you noticed the different technique that waveski riders use to roll. At Santa Cruz, I noticed several expert waveski folks doing a roll where they extract the inboard leg from the stirrup and, as they come over, they fling that leg over to the other side of the board as a counter balance. This is what would see in some hand rolls where the inboard hand is thrown across the deck to the other side as a counterbalance. Interesting...
