I have first aid training that hasn't been updated in a few years and have been taught CPR that, again, hasn't been updated in a few years. Some things, however, are like riding a bike for me: I never seem to forget how to do them. An example would be the year I helped my neighbour, a shut-in senior, during Halloween. She fell and hit her head on the corner of a counter, blood all over the place. She got a halloweener to go get me. I immediately inspected the wound (deep and ~ 3/4" long, torn) determined that there was no foreign object umbedded in her flesh, talked to her to see if she was coherent and not heading for shock (she was scared but ok) and applied a pressure bandage. The hospital staff thought she had been nursed up by a professional. I guess I should have been a doctor or nurse or something, especially with my new penchant for doing up my own stitches. Oh yeah, blood doesn't bother me,not even my own.
