Where did this hole in my sock come from?

I'm with you, every one of our yaks and damn near every top end glass yak I've been in has tiny pressure relief holes in the approximate center of the bulkhead. On a hot day it gets HOT in the compartments!
Still, like Bryan, I've had some serious flooding of the cockpit from waves crashing down on me and water didn't leak into the compartments. This is due to the surface tension of water and the tiny size of the holes drilled. If the water in a flooded compartment is there for any length of time, the amountthat will seep through is far less then the condensation within the compartment itself. Or, if you're like me, what pours out of my nose when opening the hatch and bending down to peer in for whatever.
