It's an all round fun boat that will serve you well for years. I'd definitely go with glass. I'm not a polyethylene fan, as long term value / performance is still better with glass. I like the small cockpit, but you may want to add a foam knee block wedge under the deck. The Skerray is very maneuverable, and fast enough. Folks who do not understand the difference betweem efficiency at touring speed vs ultimate speed should look closely at the last Sea Kayaker where the Aquanaut (Valley), and a Perception boat (If memory serves me) were reviewed. The Perception is much shorter with a shorter water line, yet with both methods of calculating drag the shorter boat took less energy up to 4 knots to propell. This example of common hydrodynamic understanding is lost on many who assume that longer is always faster. it usually is faster, but takes more energy to achieve this potential. Now if touring at 4.5 - 5 knots is your goal, then the longer boats become more effective. Most don't paddle that fast in reality. It's a good stable rough water capable fun boat. Good luck.
