If you've grown into "intermediate" with a Sealion that has no rudder and no skeg, you are probably ready for a longer and faster boat than the Skerray. The Skerray would be a step up in speed, but not a large one, nor would it be significantly more playful, if that is what you would like to have.
There's nothing wrong with the Skerray, but it is a bit of a "beginners' boat", and thus compromises on the most desired aspects (which obviously never will all coexist in a single design).

: Hi. I wonder if anybody could give their opinions on the Skerray.
: My main sea kayaking experience up to now has been with the PE Sealoin.
: I'm an intermediate level paddler (whatever that means). I would probably go
: for the
: glass version but would be interested in a comparison between the glass and
: PE boats.
: How is the Skerray speed wise? And is the ocean cockpit much of a problem in
: rescues?
: Your opinions, as ever, greatly appreciated.
