Pete, I agree. The outer Island (stripper) has a more rounded hull shape than the Merganser (S&G hull). The only boat that I had any time in up to that point was a WS Alto which has a rounded hull. Maybe a rounded hull shape gives a more progressive(?) feeling as it leans over rather than a "you're here-then suddenly here" feeling. I chalk it up to my lack of experience in different boats. Is it just coincidence that when I get into other hard chine boats they feel twitchy?
