Thanks for the feedback!
Now that I think about it, my almost instinctive tensing reaction is more troubling than the 700's actual behaviour. It's almost a cascade effect for me, I'm unstable, then start to over-compensate, then feel more unstable, etc. I guess I'll just have to decide if I want to put in the time for this boat. My Storm is just as fast, and very stable in the waves. I'm not sure what I'll gain by getting comfortable in the 700. My most recent frame of reference was trying to get used to a used Hobie 16 I purchased. I tried it for 3 seasons and a friend finally said, "Hey, you just don't like the boat. You haven't bonded with it." I realized that was true, sold it, bought a JY15 and have been perfectly happy with the choice. I'm wondering if that's a similar situation with my Q700, except that I've already got the kayak equivalent of the JY15...my Storm.
Thanks again for the observations and advice.
Jim
