: Check out Greg Barton's Epic Paddles. His Length Lock is rock solid and
: allows for continuously variable feather angle as well as a 10cm length
: adjustment.I'll second that opinion on th4e length lock. I've got an Epic, a 29 inch beam tandem and an Romany explorer. I'll shorten the paddle to 215 for surfing, lengthen it out to 220 for cruising, at the end of a tough day I might shorten it back to 215. 225 is what I used to paddle with, now that is for the tandem only.
I am by no means an expert paddler though, still working hard on my forward stroke, off-side roll, and many other things. So my style has yet to crystalize. I have stumpy legs and a tall torso. I'll probably find that somewhere between 200 and 210 cm will be the best in the end. Then again, I have been having a lot of fun with a GP lately.
I have locked in my feather angle at 60 and would never change it casually. I let a friend borrow my paddle; he returned it at about 40, and it did some weird stuff; I almost capsized on flat water. Then again, it would not be the first time.
