Sorry to hear that. From reading your other posts it sounds like you will be opting for surgery so here's hoping and trusting that all will be well. I wear prescription glasses all the time on the water and I always worry about breaking a frame myself. Doesn't sound like there was much you could have done different. Unless you had a full face helmet or wire cage it doesn't sound like a helmet would have helped so don't go worrying about it. Get well !
