: I don't want to turn this into to a "risto pile on". However, I
: share in his crime (I just tend to keep my opinion to myself since I know
: better than to instult someones boat). I've always turned my nose up at
: the Prion boats. They just didn't look right to me. I can't explain it.
: Part of it is I've only seen them in plastic.Their composite boats are super-light. Nicely vacuum-bagged. German engineering is pretty cool. But probably too light for heavy use...I've repaired a few.
Aesthetic is sometimes important, too. It's a big part of the reason I'm attracted to wooden kayaks. Wouldn't you rather have a nice handling kayak that is pretty for the same money as a nice handling kayak that looks odd to your eye?
C'mon Bree. You rambled on about getting your composite yak so you can make a statement. "the poly boat just isn't totally a boat if ya know what I mean....But it just isn't a Sagueney (composite) for the purpose of people knowing that you are the real deal" You can't have your cake and eat it, too.
