Whats really scarey to me is that Ive read that the paddle float rescue, in the event of a capsize naturally, begins to fail when waves reach three feet or more. So say your roll doesnt work either, and now the paddle float fails... whjat next...fire the flare gun???? Times like that, and I know Ive caught flak over this, it makes sense to have a pair of fins on board to expidite the exit to shore. Ofcourse, there are those times where the shore is 10 miles out I guess, but man, anything to save the humiliation of firing off an "I F--ked Up" Flare.
