Well, we've been off sailing with yaks to work out the bugs for the big trip, just got back from the second week-long sail. Funny you mentioned the GW...something bit our towed seal shape near West End, Catalina...and of course, being in deep and clear water with no kelp, not one of us paid any attention to the tow for at least half hour though more likely almost an hour. What was left was the "head" and shattered neck and part of the chest, several definite sharp edged piercings of the 1 inch plywood.

Should I post a trip report...1/3 sail, 1/3 diving and hiking 1/3 paddling???
