Thanks for sharing the story. It is a timely reminder for me as I prepare for my river trip again. I have spent many hours reading, learning and thinking about my approach to this trip this year. If you recall, I tried to start my trip last year but ended up passing through a class 6 rapid that ended my trip then and there, busting my yak into 11 pieces and wrecking my knee, which has
99%ly recovered. This year, I'm ready to try it again but with scads more caution.
