My primary radio is a Horizon HX460-S, mounted on the shoulder of my PFD. I picked up an Icom M1V on sale ($169 at Defender) as a backup, when my 460 died (my fault). Both are excellent radios. I like the form factor of the Horizon better, but the M1V performs every bit as well and is generally a few bucks cheaper.
Icom has a new 460 clone called the M88. It looks interesting, but I haven't seen one yet. There has been some concern voiced about the buttons being too close together and too small for operation with gloves on, but I imagine that's not a problem in Hawaii. Currently, the price is much higher than the HX460-S or M1V.
