Begining search for VHF

The Governor here (Hawaii) has just signed a law that requires every "vessel" that ventures one mile off shore to have on board a EPIRB or VHF radio. So the search begins. Where better to begin than here, I am sure you fanatics have all the good ones picked out and know the best places to buy.

I had been thinking of getting one anyway since hearing about some of the "kayak adventures" that have occured recently here. (5 kayakers were swept/blown out to sea and had to be rescued)

Then when I return to Flathead Land, maybe a dry suit, hmmmmm. What do you think Shawn?
