swollen left hand

This is a new one for me, second week in a row after a weekend of instruction my left hand is swelling with tenderness within the hand about inch beyond the wrist. It's gone by Tuesday after ice and ibuprofen but the appearance is bothersome. I'm wondering if I shouldn't be holding the paddle only in my left hand while holding the paddle horizontally pointing out the parts of the paddle with my right. This has never happened before but it sure can't be good.
