: Think carefully about attaching it. If you tyed to your boat, and you
: capsize, the boat could get away very fast.I read an incident about some seasoned kayaker in the Northwest who apparently capsized and was found dead, his kayak apparently sailing on way farther than he could ever have hoped to swim. Hypothermia was the cause of death.
Frankly, everything Ive read about kite kayaking has been negative, where as kayak sailing has a mixed reaction. The problems range from a giant soaked kite refusing to take flight, or one that ditches in the sea repeatedly upon trying to get it airborn. The other things Ive read about is the out of control feeling that makes it seem more an act of wrecklessness than anything else. Again tho, failure in setting up for flight seems the biggest complaint - afterall, you are so low in the water to begin with.
