I agree there should be a ground crew...uh... "water crew" to be there for the test run. I don't think I'm ready to plop down $500 for the kite, but as mentioned in another post a cheaper kite might work if it had the same steering ability. I know that a surf kite has a bar that you hold that allows you to steer. The kite has a left and right string that allows you to manipulate it.
Again, my fear is steering the boat, even if you can get the kite to pull from a different angle, it's still a problem getting the boat to respond. I don't have a rudder, and don't want to install one just for this. I definately want to use the wind, but maybe I'll stick to a sail rig. I was hoping the kite would be easier to add or remove since it's self-contained.
