Naw wait a minute...
The farmer john comes in when you're landing the yak and have to wade in that little bit of shore break. Nothing worse then cold ankles ya know...Hey...I'm with you...my head gets hyper cold in nanoseconds and seems like it's getting worse with the years, that's why I wear my farmer john on my head.

: I'm sure some of you folks have seen this but I missed the earlier thread so
: I thought I'd post it. In the S.F. bay I remember a skinny fellow who
: paddled most of the time with a dry suit, he had similar thoughts as Jay
: gives above.
: The farmer-john/poly/paddle jacket is so ubiquitous,,and limited for the kind
: of immersion that 3.5mm is meant to provide as a complete suit that the
: epxposure of ones armpits, neck, and chest are unknowingly accepted as
: part of the package. People look at me like I'm overdoing it wearing a
: fuzzy rubber hood or neoprene vest while going through multiple immersion
: but I find everytime my head hits 60 degree water it doesn't matter that
: the air is 70degrees,,my body gets cold. I keep thinking that all that
: neoprene covering ones calves isn't doing much for where the heat gets
: lost so another layer of 3mm in the form of a shortsleeve vest with a
: higher neck covering helps to cover one of the weak spots in the outfit.
