: At usca nationals I worked harder than I had ever worked in my life to beat
: someone by 6 ft. Big people tend to melt on a hot day. At 234#, I like to
: think I can bench press a Buick and how do you think it feels to beaten by
: a superbly conditioned woman who is about half my weight? And on the
: subject of safety and weight, the seda web site seemed to say they no
: longer have front bulkheads in the gliders. Because safety and not hurting
: my back is such a big deal I added a rear bulkhead and thigh braces to my
: west side boat. The man I worked so hard to beat is the man who so
: skillfully crafted this 24# boat that is 21 ft long. God I love that boat
: and cannot wait to again get in the icebreaker held 3rd weekend of march
: at www.saranaclake.com More than once this year we had distinction of
: being coldest place in nation with 34 below. The ice fisherman say the ice
: is still 3 or 4 feet thick. IT has been a great year for ice! But
: meanwhile it is fun to go the gym to get that runners- kaywakers high.Oh gosh, I didn’t realize my post might have another possible meaning. No, my wife is a non- athletic 4’11” 100#, and paddles an Impex Mystic. I paddle a Coaster. We paddle around together at around 3 knots, but I kind of have to zig-zag a bit so that we stay together. One thing I had to promise her was that I wouldn’t leave her alone when we were paddling. However, I’ve been planning another kayak camping trip and I wasn’t sure how to distribute the gear load among our boats so that it affected us uniformly. From the equation, I see that she would be penalized more if the gear load was distributed 50-50 as originally planned. I see that more of the load needs to remain with me so our speeds remain more compatible.
