: Hull speed is a theoretical number which predicts when the wave drag starts
: to predominate over frictional drag. It is by no means a hard speed limit.
: Long narrow boats like kayaks regularly exceed hull speed.I noticed, from watching the GPS that little variation occurs on the speed readings at 3-4 mph. It would look like a pretty smooth sine wave. Sprinting tho, much over 5mph and the peaks and valleys start to get exagerrated. Theres a quick drop off inbetween strokes. Im guessing this is either me pushing against the beginnings of "hull speed" or my arms and back just in need of more exercise.
