: You have to be a little creative with how you order a Kokatat suit.

: Are you saying they won't put a drop seat in a women's L or XL? Awful!

They only have an XLS (short) but no XLT (tall). They won't put the drop seat on any of their other suits even the ones they call unisex. I tried to talk them into it. I offered to pay extra. No luck.

: I asked for a GTX Meridian with an added relief zipper and booties. It was
: about $100 cheaper than ordering the Dura GTX and adding the booties.
: Plus, I dislike the look of the cobalt/mango, and wanted solid mango.
: (It's easier for SAR to find the body that way!)

Yep... That's what I want too... safety colors... not their idea of color coordination.

: I'd have to agree 100% that they're a little maddening in not fully allowing
: you to customize a suit. I had them add 3" to my suit's legs, 2"
: to the arms, and 1" to the torso...I'm enough of a fabric welder to
: know that they pretty much had to custom cut all the major fabric panels
: of my suit. It was custom, they just didn't call it that. It's silly that
: they won't give you an Expedition with a drop seat, or a Women's suit with
: drop seat AND longer limbs.

I agree 100%. It is costing them $1,000.

: Did you find a female customer-service person who might be a little more
: symptathetic to your needs? I'm not a chauvenist, but sometimes I hate to
: admit it still happens a lot.

Been there... done that.

: If you're really getting nowhere, my local dealer is a woman, and she seems
: to have pretty good rapport with them--I could have her inquire for
: you--it's probably better to do your inquiries as a dealer than as a
: single customer.

Been there... done that.

: Or...Shawna Franklin of Body Boat Blade is on the Koka sponsored expedition
: around Iceland...call BBB and see if she can get a custom suit ordered for
: you. (they leave in May...probably better to call sooner than later).

: And that diagonal color-block is just ugly!!

You got my vote!

: Oh, and my XL suit with extensions--it would probably fit Yao. When I have it
: hanging by a hanger with the shoulders at 7'-0" off the floor, the
: feet touch the ground. They do run a little tall...you might want to try a
: stock women's model and see if it's close...then push them for longer legs
: if necessary.

They are insane! You would think they are making suits for giraffes.

: Speaking of dive drysuits...have you tried White's of BC?

Been there... done that. LLoyds and Gill are possibilities.

Safe Paddling
