Pete,
First, look closely at your life outside paddling. I used to have some bad tendon problems in my right elbow and wrist. I tried changing all sorts of things with my paddling technique and nothing helped. Eventually, I noticed that the problem was well correllated with how many hours I spent at a keyboard. Fixing the ergonomics of my keyboard and mouse fixed the problem.
Second, before going to exotic (and expensive) bent shaft solutions, give a greenland paddle a try. Poke around the web and read Greg Stamers description of the greenland forward stroke. The geometry of your elbows and wrists are very different with a greenland paddle. You might find it changes things enough to make the problem go away.
