I installed a Attwood 500 using rechargeable B&D Versapak stick batteries in my kayak over 3 years ago. It has never failed to work and with 4 battery sticks in a water tight plastic jar it runs for over 15 to 20 minutes. The whole setup including plumbing has added about 1 1/2 to 2 lbs. I am going to see if the newer Attwood V-625 will replace the V-500 for improved pump rate.
