cheap kayak vacation?

As a child of the north I know I am supposed to love below Zero weather and get really upset during a thaw lest my igloo melt. Upstate NY is not that far north yet I long for my wife and I to fly somewhere warm for a week in jan or feb where maybe I could soak up some sun and maybe paddle everyday in the ocean or other warm water. A couple years ago we did link up with San Diego kayak club for some wonderful whale watch paddling. Any ideas?
