I've seen Chris Cunningham sail his Greenland S&G without a rudder. It does have a skeg, and I think he used his paddle for steering.

: Just curious, with the long skeg/rudder threads no one mentioned sailing
: their kayak. I havn't tried it because I don't have a rudder but have
: regularly sailed my canoes and would certainly set up to sail the kayak
: for a long trip. For that, I feel a rudder would make life much easier.
