: any of you opinionated folks willing to toss your $02 into the hopper
: comparing those two, I know the Scirocco some.I know the Sirrocco a lot, but don't know the avocet at all other than by name. The Sirrocco *is* the Gulfstream. But having said that, the skeg doesn't seem to counter the wind as well as in the gulfie (the skeg is a little smaller), and *seems* to roll a bit easier. There has been some quality control issues with my Sirrocco (2 leaky bulkheads, a leaky deck fitting, and the skeg control cable sheath seperated). But I still really like the boat. All things being equal I like it a bit more than my Gulfstream (it just fits me better, which may be why it rolls easier).
The Sirrocco, like the Gulfstream, tracks well and really likes to be leaned to turn. But on edge it will spin easily. It doesn't weigh much more than the Gulfstream, which is another plus considering it is a plastic boat.
