My last one was...

...in an advanced rolling class at last year's Delmarva retreat. I was attempting a vertical paddle roll, but the water wasn't deep enough and the paddle stuck in the mud bottom. I pulled it out and tried again with the same result (DUH!). I should have been able to just scull up, but I was low on air, I panicked and popped the skirt. There were three upsides to this experience:
1) I discovered how much water a skin boat will take on without LOTS of floatation installed. I haven't made that mistake since.
2) The rescuers got firsthand experience emptying a skin boat with lots of water in it. Funny, they didn't thank me...
3) One of the rescuers is now my girlfriend. I guess you could say that the swim was a good ice breaker, if not an impressive performance.
