Why lift the bow? I effectively empty a kayak in seconds by sinking the stern. Sit as far back as you can on the stern of the kayak and using your thighs lean the kayak slowly to one side. The seal on the cockpit will break and the bow slowly rise. Once you think the cockpit is empty, grab the high side and quickly flip the kayak upright by falling off. Normally only have a litre or 2 left in the cockpit. I am only 78kg so weight isn't much of an issue and no floatation aids or kicking are needed. As Shawn said above a bulkhead close the cockpit edge helps.
