Hi Alex,
I have been using a foam seat in my Pintail for a little over a year now. It is the most comfortable seat I have ever used. It took a while to get it there as I was trimming a bit here and there for a while. Just this year I built another one for my (formerly mine) Sirius. It came pretty well and was more comfortable and lower than the original seat. The comfort and lower center of gravity is worth the effort to build one. They aren'y to expensive or hard to do. I know Nick recomends an angle grinder in his book, but I used a piece of dragon skin (metal sandpaper)and it took a while, but worked fine.
I have linked to a picture of the seat I put in my Sirius. The old one was too ragged and ugly to show!
