I rebuilt the cockpit for my seda glider using the existing backband and closed cell foam. It took a while to get everything right, but its worth it. I have never sat in a more comfortable kayak since its carved exactly to fit my body.

Closed cell foam is easy to work with. Once I had the shape right, I covered the seat and the supporting "leg ramps" with a thin layer of neoprene to give is a professional look and durable surface.

I am in the process of doing a similar rebuilding job for my looksha sport.

If you are at all uncomfortable in your cockpit, you owe it to yourself to customize your own cockpit. If a total klutz like me can do it, anyone can.
