River width is about the length of their boats :-). I can also see some "cheating" - boats seem to have a significant rocker, and hazard is more a "riffle", (i.e. water running flat above the rock), rather than real "rapids", where water falls down at vertical angle. But I have to agree - ocean kayak really rules.
