Recently this link was posted at this BBS: http://www.kayakfit.com/. They have done a lot with closed-cell foam, including seats. The idea to reduce kayak weight (and possibly gravity center) without paying extra $$$ for kevlar body - that's what I like. Seems to be a bit of handcrafting - measuring, curving, finishing (this stuff isn't what I like :-). Anybody tried to create such seat, how does it feel, is it worth mental and low-back pains?
