When are you going to start throwing cartwheels in those "longboats"? If you want to see some interesting expressions on "shortboaters" faces, pull up to a park and play wave, paddle into the line-up, hop on the wave and show them how it's done. Stand-up surfers, spongers and open canoeists surf river waves, why not sea kayakers? But you have to do it around a group of "shortboaters" just to see the expression on their faces. Get another photo while you're at it. I've attempted a bony class III in a sea kayak; all I can say: it was a lot more fun in a "shortboat". However, I do know the perfect park and play wave to surf my sea kayak, even a nice class III run that isn't too bony...
Don't let the "shortboaters" have all the fun,
Craig
: How sad it is to see once proud and adventurous sea kayakers resort to
: comandeering the local swift water river just to get their tidal current
: fix. Don't these guys realize that you need special (short) boats to play
: in the rivers? It's just so sad, so truly sad. I can see it now,
: shortboaters will rise up against the longboaters. There will be chaos on
: the rivers. Isn't there a law against this kind of behavior?
