: I have very poor eyesite. I have been wearing glasses when kayaking, as I am
: worried if I have contacts in and they get washed out or fouled, I would
: be screwed. Glasses, however, are a bit dangerous, as in stormy conditions
: they tend to fog up, and the water drops on the lenses make it even harder
: to see the waves coming. Its often dicy to take a hand off the paddle to
: wipe them. Does anyone kayak regularily with contacts, and is my concern
: about losing the contacts while under water justified?

I have used both extensively. I find I often use sunglasses with contacts so haven't gained much in convenience. The chances of washing one contact out are very small. The chances of washing both out are almost nonexistant so you still have far vision in one eye.

My vision now is such that if I wear contacts I need reading glasses or have to take my contact out to do close work or read.

I've had very good luck using "Rain-X" on my glasses. The water beads and runs right off in most any situation.
