Kid-yak?

Hi howdy all,

My 7 year old daughter has just informed me that she wants her own kayak. I'm thrilled!!...but, before I spend the time and $$ on a good boat, I am thinking about making a super-fast, super-cheap style to find out if she is really serious. I'm looking at the Kid-yak from Glen-L. It is 9' x 22", with a flat bottom, and made from a single sheet of ply.

I figured, for a test platform, I could go without glassing the hull, but, simply saturating with epoxy. Then, if she really likes it, I would spend the extra time, and build a GOOD one for her. Maybe even let her do alot of it herself.
