strip building and surfboards

I've been toying with the idea of strip building a longboard. The boards dimensions will be about 10'6" x 22" x 3.5". Instead of building the deck and hull like you do with kayaks, I would build two halves (port and starboar) then attach it to a rigid stringer (wear traditional boards get their strength)
I perceive two problems with my idea. First strength, would a strip built sandwich support my weight and the stress of surfing? Has anyone tried standing on their strip built kayak? what did it do? I know the stringer will add strength in this regard but I want to get an idea of strength.
The second problem is curvature. The rails of the board are very tight curves. How tight can I get with strips. I imagine I can use shaped solid pieces of wood where the curves get too tight but I would rather strip them. I want to strip the rails so I can control the shape with design and forms not my woodworking skill.
Any comments ideas?
Thanks
