: Well, I've tried my best to come up with a boat that I thought would
: incorporate all the things I'm looking for in a design, and would like to
: submit what I have so far here for a sort of peer review, if you will (the
: question of "what boat should I build!?!?!" was about to drive
: me nuts. Thanks go to Ross Leidy, Joe Greenley, and others for their
: excellent input in that department, though). I decided to design my own
: because I wanted the satisfaction of building and paddling a boat that was
: entirely my own. Also, because I'm unable to satisfy my building and
: paddling urges at the moment, I found that contemplating my own design at
: least helped quell them a bit. Any criticisms or input anyone is willing
: to give are very welcome (how often do you get an opportunity to flame
: like that!!).: Thanks, Nick
Nice going Nick:
I like it. Nice clean lines.
If I look at yr sectn dwgs, the second profile in on the left side is at the ctr of grav. Calling this zero and counting off equally in both directions, it looks to me as if the bow is way fuller than the stern. Stern will sink a bit and you'll get the tracking ( more sink when loaded - most wt in stern hatch ) but I'm just not sure about leecocking in wind conditions. I think it would.
But build it , build it! When mine is done you can throw some HUGE stones!
