PVC frame for skin boat

Lately an Ad for PVC pipe caught my eye and I thought about using it to build a skin boat frame. I'm concerned about the elasticity of the material, although it behaves close to what I would expect a strip of wood to do. Anybody done it, or am I charting new ground?
