and it has to carry two paddlers? from the cardboard canoe races I've seen failure usually comes from large unsupported panels. Whether that's a hull bottom or sides. Second failures are unsupported joints, like a bow or stern joint made of the side panels. Triangular stem pieces will help there. Experiment making integral gunwales but cutting two parallel half cuts 2" down from the shear, fold over into a triangular gunwale and tape it down as well as the top edge. I'd be tempted to make a shallow v bottom with a triangular keel tube down the inside and other tubes resting next to it providing support to the hull as well as a floor panel. Another set of triangular tubes could act as chine fillets connecting the floor/hull to the sides. If there's no limit to the duct tape ,use it to cover the outside of the hull well.
