Actually a simple scaling of a boat will not effect the prismatic coefficient at all as long as the waterline is the same. That is one of the beauties of the Cp, it does not depend on scale. It would increase the volume and carrying capacity by 32%. If you need this extra capacity, it would be a good way to get it. The stability will increase.
: Nick (or anybody else with some thoughts), was thinking about taking your
: Night Heron design (low version) and enlarging the blueprints by 15% but
: keeping the station spacing the same. Thus, creating a wider boat
: (23") with more volume but without increasing the length. How would
: this affect performance.: It seems that the pris. coef. would go down? stability up? and tracking down?
: Any thougths. I love the looks of the design, but really need a second boat
: that has a more stability than the original design so it can be used by
: some novice friends.
