Kayak and Canoe Design Bulletin Board

row/paddle

Hi Maybe some one could help me out a little? I love rowing and it looks like paddling could be a lot of fun. I built a 17ft. Modified Herreshoff Rowboat. Its great to take four along But a bit much for just one. Geting it in and out of the water is a chore. I am looking at a 16.5 Mill Creek by CLC. It can be a single/double Paddler or drop in a sliding seat and row. Is there some thing better out there? I am a wood worker by trade, is there a real advantage to a kit over plans beside time? Any help would be great!!
