Hi Steve, sounds like you are trying to put together a large whitewater sized boat. How much do you weigh? Is a conventional cockpit/sprayskirt desired? Instead of trying to adapt a particular design to some parameter(less 2ft.) Tell us what your parameters are,for example 12ft boat for 150lb person and maybe there's a design out there that matches you. A few of the folks that I know that have made the yare and other stitch and glue boats prefer making conventional stitch and glue boats. I haven't made a yare so I don't know.
