Looks like a canoe to me

So I guess it's not o far off topic :)

BTW I helped found the Boston University Solar Car team

Take a helpful hint. Keep the first project as simple as possible.

We bit off too much with that car.

I'd build the hull from a kit, and order the motor and controller from a well know vendor.

There a book on building Electric Boats available. Get a copy and follow it to the letter

And above all else , HAVE FUN :)
