not too far off topic? Anyways a college student called up today inquiring about plywood,in the course of conversation I asked what he was making: a solar powered watercraft for some kind of contest. I mentioned this board to him and am hoping that all you brilliant thinkers could add your two cents to the idea and possibly he'll come across a gold mine herein. The design they were thinking of sounded like some kind of wide double kayak from Glen-L. The only parameters I got was a displacement of about 400lbs and 48sq.ft. of panels.

I'm thinking some kind of ultra skinny kayak with outriggers would work better. Any thoughts out there?
