> one of same design?Hi Jim , I'm not a designer type but if one kayak is 20lbs heavier then you'll sit a little lower(not much) resulting in some greater stability. I don't think there are any stability disadvantages worth considering between a very light kayak and a very heavy one. I think most of the differences will be that the lighter one will be more responsive to turning in all axis as well as easier to accelerate,that responsiveness could be perceived as less stability but I'd call it just lighter. I think a heavier paddler in an ultralight kayak has more issues of durability than stability.cheers-lee
