> PADDLE FROM LOWER SEAT?Folbots, Kleppers, Nautiraids, etc usually have about 28" beams on their singles and 33-34 inch beams on their doubles. I can use either a 230cm or a 240cm paddle with my doubles from the lower seating position. I'm 6'2".
You will want to consider the shape of your hull on a hard boat to get the kind of stability you have with a wide folding boat. A wider hard chined boat will let you do "high seat" paddling a litle easier than a rounded or multi-chined boat, but you still may get wet. : )
