: Questions: -In case of capsize what do you do? What is in your hands? What
: else might you reach for?Roll. My paddle. No paddle, hand roll. Or use one of those Greenland deal-e-o-s, which I have no idea how to use.
: -What objects do you usually carry on your boat? What about just in your
: Hull? And compartments?Typical safety gear.
: -Do you ever forget to bring certain items that would be beneficial in case
: of emergency? What items?Nope. Sometimes, I ignore them because I'm too lazy to load them for a short paddle around the point.
: -What do you find to be the biggest hazards on open water? What about
: discomforts? My seat sucks!!! It's about the most uncomfortable item in my kayak. Biggest hazard? Probably a big laker shipping stuff between Duluth and Thunder Bay.
My thoughts: Forget about coming up with new gear, but do come up with a new program that includes safety instruction and training for all kayakers. Come up with a way that it become profitable for retailers.
If you really want an interesting project: Come up with a way to redefine the seating position in a kayak to increase performance, comfort, and control. Or come up with a great way to take a bathroom break while paddling.
