Hi,
My name is Mathew and I am a senior majoring in Industrial Design who is beginning my senior thesis project. I have long had a great appreciation for kayaking and am planning to investigate solutions to making kayaking safer and more comfortable for all ages, sexes, and skill levels. If any of you fellow kayaking enthusiasts would be interested in sharing your insights to a few questions it would help me out a great deal throughout my research and design process.
Questions:
-In case of capsize what do you do? What is in your hands? What else might you reach for?
-What objects do you usually carry on your boat? What about just in your Hull? And compartments?
-Do you ever forget to bring certain items that would be beneficial in case of emergency? What items?
-What do you find to be the biggest hazards on open water? What about discomforts?
Your time and thoughts are greatly appreciated. I will be happy to keep any one who is interested on the evolution of the project posted. Just let me know in your message or e-mail me at cardinalim@wit.edu. Thanks.
-Mathew
